Based on her personal experience with Anorexia, and her struggle with body image and beauty as dictated by contemporary western society and the media. Nil by Mouth explores the notion of beautiful, sexualised, objectified, healthy imagery, juxtaposed with harsh, cruel, unhealthy broken language. There is a belief that an anorexics relationship to body image will remain dismorphic for years after they are 'well'. In this experimental short, the protagonist attempts to understand this life long battle and trajectory. (*please note, there is nudity in this film).
